- Finnish Digia, designer and developer of Symbian OS-based software for mobile phones, recently announced that it has incorporated Chinese own-developed TD-SCDMA technology into the Nokia S60 platform, leveraging on the company's proprietary Digia Telephony solution originally developed for GSM and WCDMA, according to a press release by Digia. By means of China Mobile's TD-SCDMA network and ST-NXP Wireless and T3G's TD-SCDMA/EDGE modem, the new solution has been demonstrated in Beijing. It is expected that Digia's new solution will enable phone makers to speed up the rollout of high-end TD-SCDMA phones in China.

- China Mobile, which had invited bids for 25,000 data cards supporting the TD-HSDPA (Time Division-High Speed Downlink Packet Access) standard, revealed on August 13 the bid results, Sohu News reported. The five bid winners include New Postcom, which was rewarded the largest contract of 10,000 data cards, followed by Yongsheng with 7,100, Datang with 5,000, Amoi with 2,500, and Potevio with 200, according to the same source. To date, only these five bid winners have obtained network access licenses for their TD-HSDPA data card products.
